This is adorable--spare, playful, profound. The vines, wine glass and the base of the umbrella are so fluid, the diverse shapes in the cloud surprise and delight me, and the patch of blue opens to the next world. I could sit at that table all day with those floating words.

ANNA ELKINS is a poet and painter. She earned a BA in art and English, an MFA in poetry, and a Fulbright Fellowship to write art-inspired poetry in Germany.
